Trident Aircraft was founded in 2006 by John Galdieri in an effort to make aircraft rental and instruction affordable to Midshipmen from the Naval Academy and local pilots. John, a corporate pilot, owned a Piper Cherokee that he used to commute to his corporate base in New Jersey. He started by instructing several local students in his own aircraft. His Piper eventually became so busy that he was unable to use it for his personal travel. He purchased a Cessna 150, rented a closet-size office and started what is today the most active flight school in Maryland.
The Trident business plan has not changed. We still offer very well maintained, well- equipped aircraft at prices that blow away the competition. By the end of the first year, the fleet increased to 3 aircraft including a Piper Arrow and a Cessna 172. As each aircrafts schedule becomes saturated, another aircraft is added. Today the rental and instruction fleet between our 2 locations includes 19 aircraft ranging from Cessna to Cirrus, Twin Engine Duchess and even an aerobatic tail wheel Super Decathlon.
In the summer of 2010, Trident Aircraft officially expanded its operations to include a satellite office in Gulf Shores, AL. Located at Jack Edwards Airport (KJKA), we have successfully soloed over 200 civilian students and participants in the United States Navy's Introductory Flight Screening Program during the first year. We continue to see new renters and students, and look forward to continue providing flight instruction, aircraft rental, and aircraft management on the beautiful Gulf Coast.
